So, I wanted to get into the fall spirit, right? And what better way than hitting up a pumpkin patch? But not just any pumpkin patch, one that’s cool enough for teens. I mean, we’re not little kids anymore, but we still wanna have some fun.
First thing I did was ask around. I checked with my friends and saw what they were up to, and also looked around online to see what kinds of things people were saying about different farms. Turns out, there are a ton of options around here, from just picking pumpkins to full-on fall festivals. And you know, it is good to go early, like in mid-September, to avoid the crowds.
I made a list of a few places that sounded promising. Some had hayrides, which, you know, classic. Others had corn mazes, and I’ve heard they’re actually pretty challenging. I even found one that had zip lines and giant slides – how awesome is that?
I finally decided on this one farm that seemed to have it all. It’s been around for a while, so they know what they’re doing. It had the hayride to the pumpkin patch, a straw maze, and even corn boxes. They did mention something about following the right-hand rule in the maze, so I guess I’ll keep that in mind. Also they have a large U-Pick pumpkin field, how great is that? I am so exciting!
We got there, and it was pretty packed, but not too crazy. We hopped on the hayride, which took us out to this massive field of pumpkins. I’m talking rows and rows of them. Big ones, small ones, weird-shaped ones, you name it. They even had other cool stuff like gourds and squash, that is so special!
After we picked out our pumpkins, we decided to tackle the straw maze. Let me tell you, it was way harder than I thought it would be. We got turned around a few times, but we just kept following the right-hand rule, and eventually, we made it out. It was a good thing we didn’t panic, because I heard some people were getting pretty freaked out in there.
We spent the rest of the day just messing around. They had some other activities, like a corn cannon, which was basically a giant slingshot for corn. It was pretty hilarious watching everyone try to hit the targets.
All in all, it was a solid day. We got our pumpkins, had some laughs, and just enjoyed the fall vibes. It’s definitely something I’d recommend for teens who want to do something festive but not too kiddie. I also heard it can be a great opportunity for family to spend time together. But for me, going with friends is a much better choice. This farm also has a lot of developmental activities, which can be helpful for kids. But for us teens, we just simply had fun.
