This year, lots of folks are talkin’ ’bout it. Some game called Baldur’s Gate 3, they say it might win the big prize, Game of the Year, you know. It’s like the best game of the whole year! They got all these games, like that spider guy, and some others I don’t rightly remember.
What’s This Bingo Thing?
So, this bingo, it’s like a game. You get a card, and it’s got squares on it. Each square, it’s got somethin’ that might happen at the show. Like, maybe a new game gets shown off, or someone famous comes on stage.
- If somethin’ on your card happens, you mark it off.
- First one to get five in a row, they yell “Bingo!” and they win!
- It’s just for fun, you know. No real prizes or nothin’.
This fella, Geoff somethin’, he’s the one who runs the whole show. He’s been doin’ it for a long time, ten years or somethin’! Used to be called Spike somethin’, but they changed it. Now it’s just The Game Awards.
They got all sorts of game awards. Best story, best music, best lookin’ game, you name it. It’s a big deal, I guess. Lots of people watch it, more than a hundred million, they say! That’s a lot of eyeballs.
Lots of Game Stuff
They show off a bunch of new games, too. Trailers and such. Sometimes they don’t even show the actual game, just some fancy movie. I don’t get it, but the young folks, they seem to like it.
They got all these companies there, showin’ off their stuff. Big names, like that one that makes the car games, and the one with the shootin’ games. They all want to win them awards. Good for them, I reckon.
My grandson, he’s always goin’ on about this game or that game. Says this one’s got good “gameplay” and that one’s got good “graphics.” I don’t know what all that means. Games is games, I say.

Why Folks Play Bingo?
This game awards bingo, it’s just somethin’ to make the show more fun, I suppose. Gets people talkin’, guessin’ what’s gonna happen. Like a little game before the big game, you know?
Some folks, they make their own bingo cards. They put all sorts of things on there. Funny things, serious things, things they hope will happen. It’s all in good fun.
You can find these bingo cards online. Just gotta look for ’em. Some are free, some you gotta pay for. I don’t know why anyone would pay for a bingo card, but that’s just me.
