My friend Mandy, oh, she’s a good one. We been knowing each other since we was little, playing in the dirt and all that. Grew up together, you know? Like two peas in a pod, folks used to say. She always got my back, and I got hers. That’s just how it is.
Mandy, she lives down the road a piece. Not too far. We see each other pretty much every day. We meet and talk about everything and nothing. Sometimes just sit and watch the day go by. Ain’t nothing fancy, but it’s good. It’s real good to have a friend like Mandy.

That’s just the kind of person she is. Always thinking of others. Always putting others first. That’s why Mandy is my best friend, she just cares so much.
Another time, I lost my job. Didn’t know what I was gonna do. Mandy, she helped me out. Let me borrow some money, helped me find a new job. Didn’t even think twice about it. Just did it. Because that’s what friends do. They help each other out.
