Hey there, lemme tell ya somethin’ about this thing, this Second Life. It’s like another whole world, but it ain’t real, ya know? It’s all made up inside that computer box. They call it virtual, this here Second Life. And in this here Second Life, you can buy land, like, fake land. It’s all made up, ain’t it somethin’? They call it virtual dream estates.
Now, I heard tell of a place, this Virtual Dream Estates. They say it’s a big place in this here Second Life. Big shots over there, I reckon. They rent out this fake land. You can get a whole big piece, or just a little one, depending on how much fake money you got. They got all kinds of places, like beaches and fields. All make-believe, but folks sure do love it.
I heard it’s easy, this Second Life stuff. You just go in, make yourself a little person, and then you can walk around, fly around, all that. And you can buy things, like houses and clothes. All with fake money, mind you. This virtual dream estates is just one of those things you can buy.

- Lots of folks go there, from all over, I hear.
- They make things, build things. All pretend-like.
They say you can even make friends in this Second Life. Talk to people, go to parties, all that. But it ain’t real, so don’t you go forgettin’ that. It’s just a game, like them games the young’uns play. But this virtual dream estates, it sounds like the big time in that game. Like bein’ a big shot farmer, but with none of the work. My back sure could have used that back in the day.
Now, they got rules in this Second Life. Gotta be nice to folks, can’t be causin’ trouble. Same as real life, I suppose. But you can do a lot of things you can’t do in real life. Like flyin’. I always wanted to fly. Maybe I’ll try this Second Life thing sometime. See what all the fuss is about. Check out these virtual dream estates.
This other place I heard about, La Bella somethin’ or other, they got houses. Big, fancy houses in this Second Life. All furnished up real nice. You can get one up in the sky, if you want. Imagine that, a house in the sky! Don’t seem right, but that’s what they do in this virtual dream estates business, I guess. Up is down, and down is up in the Second Life.
Then there’s BEE somethin’, they sell land too. Whole big chunks of it. They call ’em SIMs. I don’t know what that means. Just another made-up word in this Second Life, I reckon. I ain’t never been good with the computer stuff. Just give me the crops and land, any day. That’s the life I know. That’s the real life, you know? Not this virtual dream estates stuff. But folks like it, so there must be somethin’ to it, huh?
And this other one, Crisp Estates, they say it’s more than just rentin’, it is a lifestyle! A lifestyle? What does that even mean? A bunch of fancy words for livin’ in a made-up world. You can have beaches in this Second Life, they say, even though you ain’t near no real ocean. It’s all just pictures in that computer box. But these virtual dream estates, they make it sound real nice, I gotta admit.
They got all these SIMs connected in Second Life, like a big road, but it’s water. You can sail on it, fly over it. Sounds kinda fun, I guess. Sittin’ on your porch, lookin’ out at the fake water. It is like the real one, from what I have seen. But it ain’t the same as feelin’ the real wind in your hair, or the real sun on your face. I do not know if you can have that in the virtual dream estates.
So, this Second Life, it’s a strange thing. But lots of folks like it. They spend their time and their money, even real money, on these virtual dream estates. Buildin’ houses, buyin’ land, makin’ friends. All inside that computer. It’s a whole other world in there. Maybe it’s worth a look. Maybe not. I don’t know. I am still not sure about this Second Life thing. But I know one thing, it is not like the life I have known. That, I am sure.
This whole virtual dream estates thing in Second Life, it’s somethin’ else. A lot of people like it. They say it is fun. I still do not get it, but that is ok. Maybe one day I’ll see what it’s all about.
