Okay, guys, so I’ve been thinking about where to escape the winter chill, and obviously, Florida came to mind. I mean, who doesn’t dream of sunshine and beaches when it’s freezing outside, right? But not all of Florida is created equal in December. So, I started digging around to find the warmest spots.
First, I looked into South Florida. I figured, the further south, the warmer. Makes sense, right? Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach—those areas are pretty much guaranteed to be warmer than the rest of the state in December.
Then, I stumbled upon this gem called Key West. It’s like, the southernmost point in the whole U.S.! Apparently, it’s this little tropical paradise with average highs around 77F in December. I checked out some pictures, and man, the sunsets there look absolutely amazing. Plus, they say the nightlife is pretty lively, which is always a bonus.
- I made a list of other places that kept popping up:
- Fort Myers
- Bradenton
- Naples
- Sarasota
- Destin
- Clearwater
- Cape Coral
- Panama City Beach
- Amelia Island
These places all sounded great, but Key West really caught my eye. I heard that they offer these things called “sandbar trips,” and you can just chill out in the warm water. It seemed perfect. I thought, “This is it, this is where I want to be in December.”
I also learned that December in Florida is pretty popular for “snowbirds”—people who fly south for the winter. I guess I’m not the only one who wants to escape the cold! I can see why though, with the warm weather, beautiful beaches, and all the outdoor activities you can do, like fishing and hiking.
After all this research, I decided to book a trip to Key West! I found a great place to stay, and I’m already picturing myself on the beach, soaking up the sun. I’ll definitely keep you guys posted on how it goes. Maybe I’ll even share some sunset pics!
It was interesting and I found it worth to share with you guys. Hope it helps when you guys plan to travel to Florida.
