Okay, so today I tried this thing called “balance for life az,” and let me tell you, it was a journey! I’ve been feeling super stressed lately, work piling up, you know the drill. I stumbled upon this idea and thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
I started by, well, just sitting down. Sounds simple, right? But I actually took a moment to close my eyes and take a few deep breaths. I tried to clear my head, which is like trying to herd cats, but I did my best.

My Makeshift Plan
- Morning: I decided to wake up 30 minutes earlier than usual. Usually, I’m rushing around like a headless chicken.
- Midday: I blocked out a full hour for lunch. No eating at my desk!
- Evening: I planned to disconnect from all screens (phone, laptop, TV) at least an hour before bed.
The morning part was rough. My alarm went off, and I seriously considered hitting snooze about ten times. But I dragged myself out of bed and did some stretching. Nothing fancy, just enough to wake up my body. Then i made some changes in my diet.I ate some vegetables, fruits and healthy * boosted up my energy.
Lunchtime was actually pretty great. I went for a walk and grabbed a sandwich from that little cafe down the street. I sat outside and just, you know, enjoyed the sunshine. It felt so weird to not be rushing.
The evening was the hardest part. I’m so used to scrolling through my phone before bed. I actually picked up a book instead, which felt super old-school. I didn’t finish the book, I read a book for an hour, and, I’ll be honest, I did peek at my phone a couple of times. Baby steps, right?
So, did I achieve perfect balance? Nope. Not even close. But I did feel a little less stressed, a little more present. I think the biggest thing was just being intentional about my time. I actually paid attention to what I was doing, instead of just going through the motions.
I’m going to keep trying this. Maybe not every single day, but definitely a few times a week. It’s like anything else, you gotta practice to get better. And hey, even a little bit of balance is better than none, right?
