Okay, so this weekend, I decided to take a little trip to Connecticut. I’ve been feeling super stressed with work lately, and I just needed a quick getaway to recharge. Nothing crazy, just a chill couple of days.
Planning the Trip
First things first, I had to figure out where in Connecticut I wanted to go. I didn’t want to spend hours driving, so I looked for places closer to the border. I googled some towns. Then I started looking into what each town had to offer.

- Checking out activities: I’m not a huge outdoorsy person, but I do like a nice walk. I wanted a place with some cute shops, good restaurants, and maybe a museum or something.
- Finding a place to stay: I didn’t need anything fancy, just a clean and comfy place to sleep. I looked at some hotels and found a few that looked decent and had good prices.
I finally chose a little town. It seemed to have a good mix of everything, and it wasn’t too far of a drive.
Hitting the Road
Saturday morning, I packed a small bag, grabbed my coffee, and got in the car. The drive was actually pretty nice. I put on some music and just enjoyed the scenery. I arrived at the town around lunchtime.
Exploring the Town
First up: Food! I found a cute little cafe and had a really good sandwich. After that, I started exploring the town.
- Window shopping: They had some adorable little boutiques. I got a cute new scarf.
- Museum visit: The town had a small historical museum. I spent an hour or so there, learning about the town’s history. It was actually pretty interesting!
- Relaxing walk: I found a nice little park and just walked around for a while, enjoying the fresh air.
For dinner, I decided to treat myself. I found a slightly nicer restaurant that had great reviews. And It was delicious!
Heading Home
Sunday morning, I woke up, had a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, and then packed up my stuff. Before heading home, I stopped at a local bakery and got some pastries for the road. Then just start driving to home.
The weekend trip was exactly what I needed. It wasn’t anything extravagant, but it was a great way to relax and recharge. I came back feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the week ahead. Sometimes, a little getaway is all you need!
