Okay, so I stumbled upon this “Book of Life” coloring book thing, and I thought, “Why not?” I’m not exactly an artist, but I figured it could be a relaxing way to kill some time. Plus, who doesn’t love a bit of coloring?
First things first, I got myself the book. I just went with a random one I found; didn’t do any deep research or anything.

Finding My Inner Artist (Or Not)
- Step 1: I flipped through the pages. Lots of intricate designs, some cool-looking characters, and all that. Honestly, it was a bit intimidating at first.
- Step 2: I picked a page that looked kinda simple. No point in going all-in on the first try, right? It was this pattern with some flowers and stuff.
- Step 3: I grabbed my coloring pencils. Okay, truth be told, they were my kid’s old pencils, but hey, they still worked!
Then came the actual coloring part. I started with the flowers, using some bright reds and yellows. My hand was a little shaky, and I definitely went outside the lines a few times. No big deal. I just kept going, filling in the leaves with different shades of green. I even tried to do some shading, but, let’s just say, it didn’t exactly turn out like those fancy YouTube tutorials.
After a while, I took a break. My hand was starting to cramp, and I realized I was, like, really focused on this coloring thing. It was surprisingly… calming. I guess that’s the whole point, huh?
I went back to it later and finished up the page. It wasn’t perfect, not even close. But you know what? It was mine. And I actually felt kinda proud of it. I even showed it to my kid, who gave it a thumbs-up (kids are easy to impress, thankfully).
So, yeah, that’s my “Book of Life” coloring book adventure. I might try another page sometime. Or not. We’ll see. But for now, I’ve got one colorful page and a slightly less stressed-out brain. Not bad for an afternoon’s work.
