Okay, so I’ve been dreaming about this Hamptons beach house vibe for a while, and I finally decided to dive in and see if I could bring some of that magic into my own place, you know, without actually owning a beach house in the Hamptons. I focused on our tiny little guest bathroom. It’s always been kind of…blah.
Getting Started
First, I spent hours scrolling through pictures. I mean, HOURS. Just looking at those gorgeous beach houses with all that breezy, airy, coastal feel. I was obsessed with figuring out what made them look so good.

I realized it’s all about light, texture, and a very specific color palette. So, I made a list. I always do. Lists help keep me on track.
My “Must-Have” List
- Light Colors: Everything had to be light and bright. Whites, creams, light grays, maybe a touch of pale blue.
- Natural Textures: I needed things that felt organic. Think woven baskets, maybe some jute, definitely wood.
- Simple Decor: No clutter! Just a few carefully chosen pieces. Less is more, right?
- Maybe a little “beachy” touch: Not too much! Like, one seashell, not a whole collection.
The Transformation
I started by painting the walls. They were this awful beige-y yellow before. I went with a super soft, almost white, gray. It instantly made the room feel bigger and cleaner. Major win!
Next, I swapped out the old, dark shower curtain for a light, linen one. It felt so much more luxurious and airy. And I found this amazing woven basket at a local shop. It’s perfect for holding extra towels and adds that natural texture I wanted. It’s also super useful.
I replaced the boring old mirror with a round one that had a simple wooden frame. It’s amazing what a difference that made! And the old light fixture? Gone. I found a simple, almost lantern-style light that fit the vibe perfectly.
The Finishing Touches
For that “beachy” touch, I found a single, really pretty seashell and put it on a small wooden shelf. I also added a really soft, fluffy white bath mat. It feels so good on your feet!
The Result
Honestly, I’m shocked at how much better this tiny bathroom looks. It’s not a Hamptons beach house, obviously, but it feels so much lighter, brighter, and more relaxing. It’s like a mini-vacation every time I walk in. And the best part? It didn’t cost a fortune. Just some paint, a few new accessories, and a whole lot of inspiration!
