Okay, so today I wanted to try something different – bringing the Bible into my daily life, like, really bringing it in. Not just reading a verse and forgetting about it. I wanted to see how it could actually affect my day.
I started this morning, and to be honest, it felt a bit weird at first. I woke up, and instead of reaching for my phone, I picked up my Bible. I flipped to Proverbs, because, you know, wisdom and stuff. I read a couple of chapters about being mindful of your words and treating others with kindness. Nothing groundbreaking, but it did set a different tone for the day.

Then I went to make breakfast. While I was waiting for the coffee to brew, I tried to think about what I’d read. Usually, I’m just scrolling through Instagram or something. This time, I actually focused on, like, how could I be more considerate in my conversations today? It felt…intentional, I guess.
- During my commute, I normally listen to pop music.
- But I decided to put on a podcast that was discussing faith.
- It gave me different ways to look at situations in life.
I got to work, and this is where it got real. I had a meeting with a coworker who I sometimes clash with. We just have different communication styles, and it can get frustrating. But I remembered that bit from Proverbs about gentle words. So, I consciously tried to be patient and listen to what they were saying, instead of just waiting for my turn to talk. It wasn’t a miracle cure, but it did feel like the conversation went smoother.
The Rest of the Day
Throughout the day, I kept coming back to that idea of being mindful. I took a few minutes during my lunch break to read a Psalm. It was a nice little reset. Even just taking a deep breath and remembering that there’s something bigger than my to-do list helped.
I would say that the most inportant part is praying. After I came back from my workplace, I prayed. I have to say it released my stress.
By the end of the day, I wouldn’t say I was a totally transformed person. But I did feel a bit more grounded. It’s like I had this little anchor throughout the day, reminding me to be present and to try to approach things with a bit more grace. I’m definitely going to keep experimenting with this. Maybe tomorrow I’ll focus on a different passage and see how that goes. It’s a work in progress, for sure, but it’s a start!
