Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little project today – giving a Cabbage Patch Kid a set of braces!
It all started with a trip to a flea market. I found this adorable Cabbage Patch Doll, but it was missing that little something special. Then it hit me: braces! I mean, who doesn’t love a kid with braces?

The Hunt for Supplies
First things first, I needed supplies. Forget fancy crafting stores, I went straight to my junk drawer. Here’s what I grabbed:
- Some thin, bendy wire – I think it was from an old twist tie.
- Tiny beads – the kind you use for kids’ bracelets.
- Super glue – because, well, everything needs super glue.
- Tweezers – for handling those ridiculously small beads.
- A toothpick – used for put the glue.
Getting Down to Business
The first step was shaping the wire. I carefully bent it into a U-shape, making sure it would fit across the doll’s teeth. This took a few tries, and my fingers definitely got a workout.
Next up, the beads! I used the tweezers to carefully pick up each tiny bead and apply a minuscule amount of super glue with a toothpick. The key here is minuscule – you don’t want globs of glue all over the doll’s face. I then put the beads to the wire carefully. It took a few minutes and my fingers were a bit sore.
Once the glue was dry, it was time to attach the braces to the doll. This was probably the trickiest part. I used a tiny, and I mean tiny, amount of super glue on the back of the wire and carefully pressed it onto the doll’s teeth. I held it there for a good minute, praying it would stick.
The Big Reveal!
And…it worked! My Cabbage Patch Kid now has a super cute set of braces. It’s definitely a unique look, and I’m pretty proud of my little DIY project. It just goes to show, you can create something fun with just a few bits and pieces from around the house!
It wasn’t perfect, a little crooked, maybe, but hey, that’s part of the charm, right? This little doll went from ordinary to extraordinary, and it only costed me a few minutes and some stuff I already had. I think that’s a pretty cool thing.
