Okay, so I’ve been seeing petite blazers everywhere and wanted to try styling one in a casual way. It seemed like a fun challenge, taking something usually considered “dressy” and making it work for everyday.
Finding the Right Blazer
First, I rummaged through my closet. No luck. Everything I had was either too formal or way too oversized. So, I hit up a few local thrift stores. I figured I could find something inexpensive and maybe even a little unique.

After a couple of misses, I scored! I found this slightly cropped, light gray blazer. It was a wool blend, but not too heavy, and the fit was perfect – snug but not tight, hitting just at my hips.
The Casual Outfit Experiment
Now for the fun part – making it casual. I decided to go with a simple white t-shirt. Nothing fancy, just a basic crew neck. I paired that with my favorite high-waisted, straight-leg jeans. They’re a light wash and have a bit of a relaxed fit, which I thought would contrast nicely with the blazer.
For shoes, I debated between sneakers and ankle boots. Sneakers would definitely keep it casual, but I felt like the boots might elevate it just a tiny bit without making it too dressy. I went with some chunky, black Chelsea boots.
Accessorizing (or Not)
I played around with accessories for a bit. A delicate necklace? Maybe a scarf? In the end, I kept it super minimal. I didn’t want anything to compete with the simple, clean lines of the outfit. I added a simple black leather belt and a plain black crossbody bag.
The Final Look
I was stoked with the look and very happy, and I think I achieved what I was going for! The blazer added a touch of sophistication, but the jeans, t-shirt, and boots kept it grounded and casual. It’s something I could wear to grab coffee, run errands, or even meet friends for a casual lunch.
- Blazer: Thrifted, light gray, slightly cropped
- T-shirt: Plain white crew neck
- Jeans: High-waisted, straight-leg, light wash
- Shoes: Chunky black Chelsea boots
- Accessories:black leather belt and a plain black crossbody bag.
It was a super easy outfit to put together, and it made me feel put-together but still relaxed. Definitely going to be trying this again with different colored blazers and maybe some different shoe options. Maybe some white sneakers next time!
