Okay, so the other day, I decided to finally tackle something I’ve been putting off: finding some karaoke songs that even I could sing without embarrassing myself too much. You know, because I love karaoke, but my voice… well, let’s just say it’s not winning any awards.
My Karaoke Quest Begins
First, I grabbed my phone and started googling “easy karaoke songs” and “karaoke songs for bad singers.” Tons of lists popped up, but honestly, a lot of them were still too intimidating. I mean, Whitney Houston? No way, José.

So, I refined my search. I started thinking about songs I actually enjoyed singing along to in the shower or the car. Songs that didn’t have crazy high notes or a super-fast tempo.
The “Shower-Approved” List
- I remembered loving “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina & The Waves. It’s upbeat, fun, and pretty much everyone knows the chorus.
- Then there was “Build Me Up Buttercup” by The Foundations. Another classic, super catchy, and not too demanding vocally.
- I also added “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond to my potential list. The “bah bah bah” part is practically made for audience participation, which takes the pressure off me!
- I stumble across a song that I familar with is “Country Roads”.It’s a slower song with a familiar melody, which makes it easier to sing along to without feeling like you’re racing against the music..
The Practice Session
I decided to do a little test run. I pulled up the karaoke versions of these songs on YouTube (gotta love the internet!) and sang along.
It wasn’t perfect, of course. But it was fun. And that’s the whole point, right? I even managed to hit most of the notes in “Country Roads” without completely butchering it. Success!
Karaoke Night!
Finally, I went a karaoke with my friend,I was still a bit nervous, but I stuck to my “safe” list.I belted out, the crowd was singing along, and nobody threw anything at me. I’d call that a win!
So, the moral of the story is: even if you think you can’t sing, there are karaoke songs out there for you. Don’t be afraid to embrace the cheesiness, have fun, and just go for it!
Because it was worked!
