Okay, so the other day I was staring at my bottle of Tito’s, thinking, “There’s gotta be more to life than just vodka sodas.” I mean, don’t get me wrong, a vodka soda is fine, but I wanted to experiment a bit. Spice things up, you know?
So, I started with the basics. I grabbed some different juices – orange, cranberry, grapefruit – the usual suspects. I also had some limes and lemons lying around, because, well, citrus is a classic for a reason.

My Little Experiment Begins
First up, I tried the classic screwdriver. Just Tito’s and orange juice. Pretty good, pretty standard. Can’t really go wrong there. I measured out about 2 ounces of Tito’s and topped it off with maybe 4 ounces of OJ. Nothing fancy.
Next, I moved on to cranberry. Same deal – 2 ounces of Tito’s, 4 ounces of cranberry. It’s a bit tart, which I like. I squeezed a little lime wedge in there, too, just to brighten it up a bit. This one was a winner. Super easy, and it felt a little more… sophisticated? Maybe it’s just the color.
Then, things got a little more interesting. I mixed the Tito’s with grapefruit juice. I’d say the proportions were a bit different on this one because grapefruit juice can be quite strong. I used, 2 ounces of Tito’s, and only 3 ounces of grapefruit juice. Honestly? It was good. Really good. I added a tiny splash of soda water for some fizz, and it was perfect. It tasted kind of like a fancy cocktail, but it took, like, two seconds to make.
Getting Adventurous
- Tito’s & Lemonade: I made some lemonade with these fresh lemons and mix it, not bad! Refreshing, especially for a hot day.
- Tito’s & Tonic: This is almost like a vodka soda, but the tonic adds a little something extra. A bit bitter, in a good way.
- Tito’s & Ginger Ale: This was surprisingly tasty. I added a bit of lime.
I even tried a few things that were a little out there. For example, I found some pineapple juice in the back of the fridge. Tito’s and pineapple? Surprisingly good! It’s got that tropical vibe going on.
Honestly, the best part was just messing around and seeing what worked. I didn’t use any fancy equipment or anything – just a glass, some ice, and whatever I had on hand. Some mixes were better than others, obviously, but it was fun to explore. My takeaway? Tito’s is pretty versatile. It doesn’t have a super strong flavor of its own, so it plays well with others.
