Okay, so I’ve been meaning to explore some cool, visually appealing spots in Houston for a while now, and I finally got around to it! I wanted to share my little adventure and how I went about finding these “aesthetic places.”
My Houston Photo Spot Hunt
First, I started with some good old-fashioned Googling. I typed in things like “most instagrammable places in Houston” and “photogenic spots Houston”. I mean, where else do you start, right?

Then I hit up Instagram. I searched hashtags like #houstonphotography, #houstonmurals, and even just plain old #houston. I scrolled through tons of photos, and saved the ones that really caught my eye.
I also checked out some local blogs and articles. You know, the ones that are like “Top 10 Hidden Gems in Houston” – that kind of thing. I found some interesting suggestions that way, places I’d never even heard of before.
Once I had a decent list, I started planning my route. I grouped places that were close to each other, so I wouldn’t be driving all over the city all day. Makes sense, huh?
The fun part, of course, was actually going to these places! I spent a whole Saturday driving around, exploring different neighborhoods, and taking tons of photos. I made it like a bit treasure hunt, with the treasure being the perfet picture spot.
- I visited some amazing murals in the EaDo district. The colors were so vibrant!
- I found a really cool, quirky coffee shop with tons of plants and vintage furniture.
- I even stumbled upon a hidden garden that was like a little oasis in the middle of the city.
- Walked the trails near the bayou.
Honestly, the whole experience was super rewarding. I not only got some great photos, but I also discovered parts of Houston I’d never seen before. It was like being a tourist in my own city! And to think I wouldn’t of experienced it if I hadn’t of searched for them.
So yeah, that’s how I found some aesthetic places in Houston. It was a mix of online research, a bit of planning, and a whole lot of exploring. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for some cool spots to check out (and photograph) in the city!
