Okay, so I wanted to find some cool places to hike where I could also take a dip, you know? So, I started Googling “hikes with swimming near me.” I figured there had to be some hidden gems around here.
Digging Around
First, I checked out a few local park websites. I looked at their trail maps, trying to see if any of them mentioned swimming areas or showed water features near the trails. That was kind of a bust – lots of pretty pictures, but not a lot of specifics about swimming.

Getting Specific
Then, I tried a bunch of different search terms. “Hiking trails with waterfalls,” “swimming holes near hiking,” stuff like that. It felt like I was throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what would stick. I did find a couple of promising blogs, but they were mostly talking about places that were hours away. Not exactly a quick afternoon trip.
Community Input
I was getting a little frustrated, so I decided to ask around. I posted on my local Facebook group, asking if anyone knew of good spots. A few people chimed in with suggestions, but most of them were the usual well-known places. I wanted something a bit more off the beaten path.
