Okay, so I finally got around to reading “Entertaining Angels Unawares” by David C Cook. I’ve seen it mentioned here and there, and honestly, the title itself intrigued me. Figured it was time to dive in and see what all the fuss was about.
First things first, I grabbed a copy. I am not going to lie, finding a good version was a little struggle, finally I got one. Then I made myself a big cup of coffee – essential for any serious reading session, in my opinion – and settled into my comfy chair.

My Reading Journey
- I started by skimming through the introduction and the first chapter, just to get a feel for the author’s style and the overall theme. It seemed pretty straightforward, so I felt confident enough to proceed.
- Then, I just went for it. I read a few chapters each day, usually in the evenings when things were quiet. Some parts were super engaging, and I found myself really getting into the stories and the characters.
- Other parts, though, I have to admit, were a bit slow. I found myself re-reading some paragraphs, trying to figure out what the author was really getting at. It wasn’t always easy, but I persevered.
- As I got further into the book, I started making notes. Just little things here and there, thoughts that popped into my head, connections I was making, and questions I had. This actually helped me stay focused and understand the material better. I highly recommend doing this! I simply use a little yellow sticky note.
- I also tried to look up some background information. I mean this book involves bible knowledge so it is a good idea to look it up when you have doubts.
- Finally, I finished it! It took me a while, probably a couple of weeks, but I made it.
Overall, it was a bit of a mixed bag for me. Some parts were really thought-provoking, and others, well, not so much. But I’m glad I read it. It definitely gave me some new perspectives to think about.
Would I read it again? Maybe, maybe not. But I definitely don’t regret spending my time on it.
