Okay, so I stumbled upon this book, “A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo,” and thought, “Why not?” I mean, a children’s book about a bunny? Seemed like a chill way to spend an afternoon. So, I grabbed the book and settled in.
Getting Started
First things first, I flipped through the pages. The illustrations were pretty cute, I gotta admit. Lots of watercolors, very soft and friendly. I started reading, just getting a feel for the story. It’s about this bunny, Marlon Bundo, who lives with his “Grampa,” Mike Pence (yeah, that Mike Pence).

Diving into the Story
Marlon’s a lonely bunny. He hops around the house, explores the garden, and basically just does bunny stuff. But he’s missing something. Then, he meets this other bunny, Wesley. And, well, they fall in love. It’s super sweet.
- Read aloud: I even tried reading it aloud, doing different voices for Marlon and Wesley. It was kinda fun, ngl.
- Noticed the details: The illustrator did a great job with the little things, like the flowers and the bugs in the garden. I spent some time just looking at the pictures.
- Felt things: This is the important part. The story is about acceptance and love. Simple but powerfull. I got emotional during some parts.
The Big Conflict
Of course, there’s a conflict. The “Stink Bug” (who is clearly supposed to be a certain former president) doesn’t want Marlon and Wesley to get married. He’s all about “boy bunnies marrying girl bunnies.” It’s a pretty obvious allegory, but hey, it’s a kid’s book.
I kept reading, eager to see how it would all work out. I even used my own marker to mark some important pages.
Happy Ending!
Spoiler alert! Love wins! The other animals in the garden band together and vote out the Stink Bug. Marlon and Wesley get married, and everyone is happy. It’s a cheesy ending, but in the best way possible.
So, yeah, that was my afternoon with Marlon Bundo. I read a book, looked at pictures, felt some feelings, and learned a little something about love and acceptance. Not a bad way to spend a day, honestly.
