Okay, so today I decided to figure out, once and for all, what the best albums are to listen to all the way through. You know, those albums where you just gotta hear every single track, no skipping allowed. Here’s how I went about it:
Brainstorming & Remembering
First, I just sat down and thought. I mean, really thought. What albums have I personally listened to a million times from start to finish? I jotted down a bunch of names on a piece of paper, the ones that instantly came to mind. This was all about my own experience, no internet involved yet.

Digging Through My Collection
Then, I got up and started digging through my old CDs and records (yeah, I still have some!). I flipped through everything, and that jogged my memory on a few more. Seeing the album art definitely helped bring back some good listening memories.
The First “Play-Through” Test
Next, I picked out about five albums from my initial list and just started listening. I wanted to see if they still held up. Did I feel that urge to skip a track? Nope.
one album that had a couple of songs I usually skip. So, that one got crossed off the list.
Internet added my thought
I used the internet to search for keywords such as ‘best albums to listen to all the way through’ and cross-referenced the search results to validate my ideas.
- add some classic findings to my list.
- Re-listened to check if it fits my criteria.
The Final Cut
After all that listening and thinking, I narrowed it down to what I felt were the true champions. The ones where every song is essential to the whole experience.

It was a fun little project! Reminded me of why I love music so much.
