Okay, so I saw this super cute bucket bag the other day, and you know, I’m a huge Taylor Swift fan. I thought, “Wouldn’t it be cool to make a Taylor-inspired bucket bag?” So, I decided to give it a shot!
First, I gathered my materials. I needed some fabric (I chose a nice, sturdy denim), some lining fabric (I went with a fun, floral print, because why not?), some rope for the drawstring, and some basic sewing supplies. I already had most of this stuff lying around from previous projects.

The Sewing Begins
Next, I cut out my fabric pieces. It is pretty simple. I’m not the greatest at following patterns, so I more or less winged it. Basically, I cut out two large circles for the base of the bag and a long rectangle for the body. For the lining, I cut out the same shapes, just a tiny bit smaller.
- Sewing the body:I sewed the long rectangle into a tube, right sides together. Then, I pinned the tube to one of the denim circles, again, right sides together, and sewed them together. It was a bit tricky to get the curves to match up perfectly, but I just took it slow and used lots of pins.
- Creating the lining: I did the same thing with the lining fabric, sewing the rectangle into a tube and then attaching it to one of the lining circles.
- Putting it all together:Then, I slipped the lining inside the denim bag, wrong sides together. I folded over the top edges of both the denim and the lining and sewed them together, leaving a small gap for the drawstring casing.
Finishing Touches
I created the drawstring casing by sewing another line of stitching about an inch below the top edge, all the way around. I made sure to leave a small opening near the gap I left earlier.
Then, I threaded the rope through the casing using a safety pin. It took a little bit of patience, but I got it done! I tied knots at the ends of the rope to keep it from slipping back through.
The Final Result
I added some iron-on patches related to Taylor Swift, like a “13” and a little guitar, just to give it that extra personal touch. The end result is pretty awesome, if I do say so myself! It’s not perfect, but it’s unique and I made it myself, which makes it even better.
Now I have a cool,Taylor-inspired bucket bag to carry my stuff in. I love it!
