Alright, so you wanna hear about this “spicing things up comic,” huh? Well, lemme tell ya, I don’t know much about fancy comic books or nothin’, but I know a thing or two about makin’ life interesting, and I guess that’s what this is all about.
First off, if you wanna make one of these comic thingies, you gotta get yourself some ideas. Don’t just sit there like a bump on a log! Think about stuff that gets you all riled up, you know? Like, maybe that time the neighbor’s cow got loose and chased the mailman, or that time your husband tried to fix the roof and ended up fallin’ into the chicken coop. Funny stuff, that’s what you need!
Then you gotta have some characters. Not just any old stick figures, mind you. These gotta be folks with some pizzazz, some… whatchamacallit… personality! Like, you could have a grumpy old farmer who’s always complainin’, or a sassy little hen who thinks she runs the whole farm. Give ’em names, too! Not just “Bob” and “Sue,” but somethin’ like “Cletus” and “Magnolia.” Makes it more fun, see?
- Think about funny stuff.
- Make interesting characters.
- Give them funny names.
Now, you gotta have a story, right? Can’t just have folks standin’ around doin’ nothin’. Maybe your grumpy farmer loses his prize-winning pig and has to go on a wild goose chase to find it. Or maybe that sassy hen decides to run for mayor and starts makin’ all sorts of crazy promises. The crazier, the better, I say!
And don’t forget the jokes! People like to laugh, you know? So throw in some good ones. Like, maybe the farmer tries to milk a goat and ends up gettin’ squirted in the face. Or maybe the hen tries to give a speech but keeps gettin’ interrupted by a rooster crowin’. You get the idea. Keep it light and silly.
I heard tell there are different kinds of comics, like them webcomics on that there internet. And some are funny, and some are about… well, let’s just say they ain’t for polite company. Some folks like them cartoons and some like them, uh…dress up kind of comics. To each their own, I guess. But if you ask me, the best ones are the ones that make you chuckle, the ones that remind you of that time your uncle tried to dance at the county fair and fell flat on his backside.
Oh, and you gotta draw pictures, too. I ain’t no artist, but I reckon you can figure it out. Just make ’em look funny. Big noses, googly eyes, that sort of thing. And don’t forget the words! You gotta let people know what’s goin’ on. Keep it simple, though. Ain’t nobody got time to read a whole novel in a comic book.
And listen, don’t worry about bein’ perfect. Nobody’s perfect, not even that fancy artist lady down the road who paints them pictures of flowers and such. Just have fun with it. If you make a mistake, so what? Just scribble it out and keep goin’. It’s your comic, you can do whatever you want with it!
So there you have it. That’s my advice on makin’ a “spicing things up comic.” Now go on and get to it! And don’t forget to show me when you’re done. I might not understand all that fancy stuff, but I can always appreciate a good laugh.
And one last thing. Don’t let nobody tell you your ideas are dumb. If you think it’s funny, then it’s funny. And if they don’t like it, well, they can just go jump in the creek for all I care. You hear?
Now git outta here, and go make me laugh!
