Well, let me tell ya, this here “Music Entertainment 20784,” whatever that means, it’s got all sorts of things going on. Sounds like a big city thing, with all them fancy words.
Lots of folks makin’ music, I hear. Not just around here, but all over the place, they say. Some of ’em even get famous, can you believe it? Like that what’s-his-name, the one with all the noise. Yeah, him. Folks seem to like him alright.
Now, they got these places, see, where you can go listen to music live. Big places, small places, all sorts. Live music, they call it. Used to be, you just had your neighbors singin’ on the porch, but now it’s all… fancy. They got lights and everything.
- They play all kinds of music too.
- Not just the good ol’ country stuff.
- They got that loud, thumpin’ music.
- And that twangy guitar stuff.
- And some of it, I just can’t even understand what they’re sayin’.
I heard tell they’re even makin’ music with them computers now. Artificial Intelligence, they call it. Sounds like somethin’ out of a science fiction book, if you ask me. They say it can make music all on its own. Who’d a thunk it? And them virtual concerts? You don’t even gotta go nowhere, just put on them fancy goggles and there you are, seein’ folks singin’ who ain’t even there. It’s kinda spooky, if you ask me.
Things sure are changin’, that’s for sure. Used to be, you just had your radio and your record player. Now they got all these gadgets and gizmos. And the young folks, they seem to like it. Always starin’ at them phones, listenin’ to somethin’ or other. Can’t hardly get ‘em to do a lick of work.
I heard tell there’s this place, not too far from here, where they have all sorts of music and dancin’. The Playhouse, they call it. Sounds fancy, huh? Close to the parkway, they say. Easy to get to, if you got one of them new-fangled cars. They got all sorts of shows there, music and dancin’ and such. Not my cup of tea, but some folks like it.
And then there’s them bars, where they play music all night long. Bars with live music, they call ‘em. Folks go there to drink and listen to music and carry on. Loud music, mostly. Can’t hardly hear yourself think. But the young folks, they seem to like it.
Even them big music companies are gettin’ into it. Heard tell of some fella, what’s his name, Drek? Yeah, Drek. He’s suin’ somebody or other, over the music. Always fightin’ over somethin’, them city folk. Money, probably.
Music’s always been around, that’s for sure. But it sure is different now. Changin’ all the time. Can’t hardly keep up. But that’s the way things go, I guess. Always changin’, always somethin’ new.
And what’s this about the future of all this music stuff? They say it’s gonna be even more different, more computers, more… I don’t even know. Sounds like a whole heap of trouble to me. But who knows, maybe it’ll be alright. Maybe them young folks will figure it all out. They always do, somehow.
So, that’s what I know about this “Music Entertainment 20784.” A whole lot of fuss, if you ask me. But folks seem to like it, so who am I to judge? Just hope they don’t forget the good ol’ country music, that’s all.
