Well, let me tell ya, this “Nearly Normal Family” thing, it’s got folks chatterin’. I watched it, and I got a few things to say, ain’t nothin’ fancy, just plain talk.
Is this family really normal? That’s what they want you to think, see? The daddy’s a preacher man, and the mama, she’s one of them lawyer folks. Their girl, Stella, she’s a sporty one, always runnin’ around. They look all nice and proper, like them pictures in a magazine. But lemme tell ya, things ain’t always what they seem. They got secrets, just like everyone else, maybe even more.

- They live in a small town, Lund they call it. Everyone knows everyone, you know how it is.
- Folks look up to ‘em, think they’re all high and mighty. But like I said, they got their own problems.
This show, it starts off kinda slow, ya know? The first few episodes, they’re alright, I guess. Some folks say it’s great, but I wasn’t so sure. It’s like watchin’ paint dry sometimes. They show you the family, how they live, all that jazz. You see the mama and daddy tryin’ to be good parents, but somethin’ feels off.
Then, bam! Things get messy. There’s this crime, see? And it involves their girl, Stella. That’s when the whole “normal” thing goes right out the window. The mama, she starts usin’ her lawyer brain, tryin’ to fix things. The daddy, he’s all worried and prayin’. And Stella, well, she’s in the thick of it.
Now, some folks say the story is kinda predictable. They say they saw it comin’ from a mile away. Maybe they did, maybe they didn’t. Me, I ain’t no detective. But I will say, there were parts that surprised me. Especially that episode six. That one was a real doozy. It was intense, you know? Made me sit up and pay attention.
That Amina girl, she’s mixed up in it too. There’s a flashback, see, where the mama, Ulrika, she talks Amina into something. It’s all about suspects and who did what. It gets your head spinnin’.
This whole thing about parental guilt, it’s a big part of the show. The mama and daddy, they feel responsible, you know? They keep askin’ themselves, “Where did we go wrong?” They try to protect their girl, but sometimes, protectin’ ain’t enough.
The book this show is based on, it’s called “En Helt Vanlig Familj.” Some fancy writer wrote it, M.T. Edvardsson, I think his name was. They say the book is real good, makes you think about how well you really know the people you love. Your own family, your best friend, even your neighbor down the street.

Now, the big question, the one everyone wants to know: Did Stella do it? Did she kill that Chris fella? Well, I ain’t gonna spoil it for ya. But I will say, the ending is somethin’ else. It’s emotional, real emotional. You see Stella in court, and Amina’s there too. And the truth, well, it comes out eventually. One way or another.
Overall, this “Nearly Normal Family,” it’s a mixed bag. Some parts are good, some parts are slow. Some folks love it, some folks hate it. Me? I think it’s worth a watch, especially if you like them crime shows. But don’t expect it to be all sunshine and rainbows. This family, they got some dark clouds hangin’ over ’em.
They say it’s a thriller, and I guess it is. It keeps you guessin’, that’s for sure. And it makes you think about families, how they work, how they can fall apart. So, if you got some time on your hands and you want somethin’ to watch, give it a try. Just don’t expect a happy-ever-after story. Life ain’t like that, and this show, well, it ain’t either.
And remember, just because a family looks normal on the outside, doesn’t mean they ain’t got secrets hidden deep down. Everyone’s got somethin’ they don’t want the world to see. Even them preacher folks and lawyer ladies.
