Alright, so you wanna get on that “The Voice” show, huh? Well, listen up, ’cause I’m gonna tell ya how it is, no fancy talk, just straight shootin’.
First thing’s first, you gotta be in the good ol’ USA, legal like. And if you’re a young’un, gotta be at least 13 years old. My grandkid, little Timmy, he’s always singin’ in the shower, sounds like a cat stuck in a fence, but he ain’t old enough yet. Gotta wait a few years, that boy.
Now, to get your foot in the door, you gotta make one of them artist accounts. Think of it like signin’ up for a bingo night, but instead of daubers, you’re usin’ your voice. They gonna ask you for all sorts of stuff, name, age, where you from, the usual. Just fill it all out, don’t be shy.
Then comes the audition part. This year, they doin’ it all online, virtual audition they call it. Saves you the trip to the big city, I reckon. You don’t need to wear no fancy clothes, just make sure you look presentable, you know, like you goin’ to church or somethin’. And for the song, don’t go pickin’ somethin’ nobody knows. Pick somethin’ catchy, somethin’ that shows off your pipes. They only givin’ you a minute and a half, so make it count! Just a verse and a chorus, that’s all you get. Practice it ‘til you can sing it in your sleep. Like makin’ a good apple pie, gotta get the recipe just right.
