Alright, alright, let’s talk about them movies, the ones like “Dear John,” you know? That movie, always makes me cry a little, thinking ’bout my old man when he was away. So, these other movies, they gotta be good, gotta make you feel something, right?
First off, they say there’s a whole bunch of ’em, like, 77 or somethin’. Lordy, that’s a lot of movies! Can’t watch ’em all, I ain’t got that much time, gotta feed the chickens and all. But some of ’em, they sound right up my alley.

One they talk about is “American Sniper“. Now, I ain’t one for all that war stuff, makes my stomach turn. But they say it’s emotional, real intense, like “Dear John,” with the soldier being away and all. Guess it shows what them boys go through, the sacrifices they make. It ain’t easy, I tell ya, waitin’ for someone to come home.
Then there’s them classic love stories, the ones everyone knows. “The Notebook,” oh honey, that one’s a tearjerker for sure. And “Titanic,” well, who ain’t seen that one? Big boat, fancy folks, and that poor boy Jack… Breaks your heart every time. “When Harry Met Sally,” that’s a different kinda love story, funny and sweet. And “Sleepless in Seattle,” another one about waitin’ and hopin’ for love. “Pretty Woman,” now that’s a fairy tale, ain’t it? And “Love Actually,” all them different stories tangled up together, makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
- The Notebook: Makes you cry buckets, I tell ya.
- Titanic: That big boat and that poor boy, oh my.
- When Harry Met Sally: Funny and sweet, just like real life sometimes.
- Sleepless in Seattle: Hope and waitin’, that’s love for ya.
- Pretty Woman: A dream come true, that’s what it is.
- Love Actually: All kinds of love, all tangled up together.
They also say there’s some movies on them fancy things, like Netflix and Amazon and what-not. One they mention is about a musician marrying a Marine, sounds kinda like “Dear John,” don’t it? Someone goin’ off to war, someone left behind. It’s always the same story, ain’t it? Love and waitin’, worryin’ and prayin’.
Now, I ain’t got no Netflix, too busy for all that. But I like them stories, the ones that make you feel something. They say there’s websites where folks vote on movies, tell you which ones are good. Like this “Filmaffinity” thing, sounds complicated. But I guess it’s helpful if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ specific. Me, I just go by what my friends say, or what I see on the TV guide.
So, if you liked “Dear John,” you got plenty of choices. You want sad and emotional, you got “American Sniper.” You want classic romance, you got “The Notebook” and “Titanic.” You want somethin’ a little different, you got all them others. It’s all about love and sacrifice, waitin’ and hopin’. Just like life, ain’t it? Always waitin’ for somethin’, hopin’ for the best.
And that’s all I gotta say about that. Go watch a movie, make yourself happy, or cry a little, it’s all good. Just remember, love is what matters, and waitin’ is part of it. Now, I gotta go feed them chickens, they’re squawkin’ up a storm.
