Well, well, well, I heard you need to find your well, huh? My old eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I reckon I can give you some pointers. You know, back in my day, we didn’t have no fancy gadgets, we just knew where things were. But times change, I suppose.
First thing you gotta do, if you’re really stumped, is call them well driller fellas. They’re the ones who poked the hole in the ground in the first place, right? Might be they got some old papers lying around that say where they put the darn thing. This is the most important for how do i find my well.

Now, if that don’t work, you might have to go down to the town hall. They got all sorts of papers down there. Might be some that show where your well is on your land. It’s important, you know, having good, clean water. Keeps you healthy and all that. Can’t have no dirty water. No sir.
Another way is to find some old papers. The person who has the land before might leave some notes. Or you can ask him directly if you know him. Hope you can find the answer from him.
That’s the thing about a well. It needs to be in a good spot. Gotta be up high, where the ground slopes down. You don’t want no nasty stuff running into your drinking water. Keeps the water clean, you see? If the well is in the wrong place, you gonna get the bad stuff into your water, that will make you feel not good. So the well needs to be higher than the land around it.
- Call them well driller fellas.
- Go to the town hall and find papers.
- Find some old papers about your land.
- Make sure the well is higher than the ground.
Find your well is very important for your health. So you need to pay more attention to it. I remember one time, old man Johnson, he had his well right next to his outhouse. Well, you can imagine what happened. Got the whole family sick as dogs. Nasty business, that was. You have to keep your well clean, and keep the water good, so you don’t get sick.
So, you gotta keep them things away from your well. Keep it uphill, like I said. And make sure there ain’t nothing nasty nearby that can seep into the ground. Common sense, really. But nowadays, folks need to be told these things, I guess.
Some folks, they got these fancy machines now. They can tell you where the water is underground. Sounds like magic to me, but I reckon it works. They call it, uh, “Aqua-something.” Sounds important, don’t it? But it may cost you lots of money. If you are rich, you can try it. But if you are not that rich, you can try the ways I told you before.

But for us regular folks, we just used our heads. Look for where the ground is highest. Look for where the water would naturally run away from. And keep them dirty things far away. How do i find my well? That’s not that hard.
Now, you say you got some papers? Might be they got some clues. Says here, “distance from two points.” What in tarnation does that mean? Sounds like some fancy talk to me. Foundation corners, you say? Now that’s something I understand. The corners of your house, right?
So, they’re saying you gotta measure from the corners of your house. Draw some lines, they say. “X marks the spot.” Like a treasure map! Well, I’ll be. Maybe this ain’t so complicated after all. Just like finding buried treasure. But this treasure is water, and you need water to live.
You see, finding your well ain’t rocket science. Just gotta use your head a little. And maybe ask around. Folks been finding wells for years without all these fancy gadgets. We did just fine. And you will too.
You need to keep in mind that clean water is important. Don’t matter if you’re a big shot or just a regular fella like me. We all need good, clean water. So take care of your well. And make sure it’s in a good spot.
And if you still can’t find it, well, maybe you can call one of them well drillers again. Tell ’em you need a new one. But that’ll cost ya. Finding the old one is cheaper, that’s for sure.

So there you have it. My two cents on how do i find my well. Hope it helps you some. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go fetch some water. From my well, of course. I know right where it is.
Remember: Don’t put your well in the wrong place. Keep it clean, and keep the bad stuff away. And use your head. That’s all the advice you need.
