Okay, so let me tell you about this little adventure I had in Golden Gate Park. It was all about setting up some lights, and let me tell you, it turned into quite the experience.
It all started when I got this idea to check out the light installations in the park. I heard they do this thing every winter, and this year they had some new stuff, like this “Entwined: Elder Mother” thing. Sounded cool, right? I packed my camera, some snacks, and headed out.
Getting There and Seeing the Lights
Getting to the park was easy peasy. I just hopped on a bus, and boom, I was there. The park is huge, but I knew the lights were somewhere around Peacock Meadow, so I just followed the signs. And drove to JFK Promenade.
- First thing I saw was this massive “Solar Arch.” It’s like 26 feet wide and 13 feet tall. It’s solar-powered. Pretty neat.
- Then I stumbled upon this “Entwined” thing by this artist, Charles Gadeken. It’s basically a bunch of illuminated trees, and it’s kind of magical. People were loving it, taking pictures and all that.
The Whole Vibe
The whole place was buzzing. Families, couples, everyone was there, just enjoying the lights. It was December, so it was kind of a holiday thing, you know? They had this whole setup with carnival rides, games, even a Cookie Factory. And Santa, of course. It was like a mini-festival.
I spent a good few hours just wandering around, taking pictures, and soaking it all in. The lights were amazing, but it was also just nice to be around so many people having a good time. It’s one of those things that makes you feel good about living in a city, you know?
Wrapping Up
As it got later, I decided to head home. Grabbed a quick bite from a food truck, because why not, and hopped back on the bus. It was a simple night, but honestly, it was one of the best I’d had in a while. Just goes to show, sometimes it’s the little things, like some pretty lights in a park, that can really make your day.
So yeah, that was my little Golden Gate Park light adventure. If you’re ever in San Francisco around wintertime, definitely check it out. It’s worth it.
