Alright, let’s gab about whether this ‘sparagus stuff goes good with them stuffed peppers, ya know? I ain’t no fancy cook, but I know what tastes good, and that’s all that matters, ain’t it?
So, what the heck is asparagus anyway? It’s that long, green veggie thing. Looks like a fancy stick to me. But folks say it’s good for ya, so I try to eat it sometimes. Now, stuffed peppers, those I know. Big ol’ peppers filled with meat and rice and stuff. Real hearty meal, ya know?

I reckon some folks like to put all sorts of things together, like them city folks. They mix and match everything! I heard tell they put ‘sparagus with all kinds of stuff. Like them summer squash and onions. Onions and tomatoes, too. Sounds alright, I guess. They even put it in somethin’ called “shakshuka.” Don’t ask me what that is, sounds foreign to me. But it’s got chilis, onions, tomatoes, and garlic. Probably spicy, that one. And they put it in salads, too. Salads! Just leaves and stuff. I like my veggies cooked, not raw like a rabbit.
But stuffed peppers? That’s a whole different story. You got your meat, your rice, your sauce… it’s already a whole meal in itself. Do you really need anything else? Well, maybe some bread to sop up the juices. Or maybe some of them cheesy quesadillas. I saw them city folks stuffin’ grilled ‘sparagus and burnt peppers in them once, not bad, not bad. But puttin’ the ‘sparagus right in the pepper? Hmm, I don’t know about that.
I guess you could cook it up separate, like. You know, steam it or fry it up a bit. Don’t want it all mushy, though. I heard you can just put it in the microwave too. Cover it up and zap it ’til it’s soft, but not too soft. Then, you could put it on the side, maybe. Like a little extra somethin’ somethin’ on your plate. I ain’t never tried it, but maybe it ain’t so bad.
- You could put that ‘sparagus on a cookie sheet with some sliced peppers, like the bell kind. Season ’em up with salt and pepper, of course. And maybe some butter sauce, if you’re feelin’ fancy. Toss it all together and cook it up. That might be good.
- Or you could fry it up in a skillet with some garlic. That always smells good. Just cook it ’til the ‘sparagus is hot, then season it up. Quick and easy, that’s my kind of cookin’.
But what about other things to eat with stuffed peppers? Now, that’s somethin’ I know about. You gotta have some good side dishes, ya know? Somethin’ to fill ya up and make the meal complete. I like them ranch crackers. Crunchy and tasty, them. Or maybe some garlic bread. Nothin’ better than soppin’ up the sauce with a good piece of garlic bread.
And then there’s all them other things city folks eat. Popovers, whatever them are. They eat them with chicken pot pie and scrambled eggs. Sounds weird to me. Pork ribs, crab salad, macaroni and cheese, ricotta, shepherd’s pie, green bean casserole, even creamed spinach! They eat all sorts of things with all sorts of other things. Me, I like to keep it simple. Meat, potatoes, veggies, that’s all ya need.
So, back to the ‘sparagus and peppers. I guess it all comes down to what you like. If you like ‘sparagus and you like stuffed peppers, then why not try ’em together? Maybe it’s good, maybe it ain’t. But there ain’t no harm in tryin’, right? You could cook it up separate and put it on the side. Or maybe you could even chop it up and put it right in the pepper mixin’. I don’t know, you be the judge.

Just remember one thing, though. Don’t go wastin’ good food. If you don’t like it, don’t eat it. But if you do like it, then eat it up and enjoy it. That’s what food is for, ain’t it? Fillin’ your belly and makin’ you happy. And if a little ‘sparagus on the side does that, then go for it. And if it don’t? Well, there’s always more stuffed peppers to eat.
And you know what else? Some folks like to eat chicken with their ‘sparagus. Just plain ol’ chicken breasts, cooked up in the oven. Rinse ’em off, dry ’em good, and stick ’em in the oven ’til they’re done. You can even steam some ‘sparagus while the chicken’s cookin’ and have yourself a whole meal. Not bad, not bad at all. But me, I still like my stuffed peppers best. With or without the ‘sparagus.
