Today, I gonna tell you guys how I became a “strong wife”, you know, like those tough ladies in movies. It all started with a simple thought: I wanted to be more supportive and, I guess, more involved in my husband’s life. Not just cooking and cleaning, but really being there for him, like a partner in crime.
So, I started by paying more attention to what he does. My man’s a game developer, works on those video games. Honestly, I didn’t know jack about games before, but I began watching him play, asking him about the characters and stories. At first, it was like listening to a foreign language, but gradually, I started to get it. I even tried playing a few games myself – mostly ended up with me yelling at the screen, but hey, I was trying.
Getting Stronger, One Step at a Time
- Listening is key, folks. I made a conscious effort to really listen when he talked about his work, his frustrations, his achievements.
- Encouraging him became my second nature. When he felt down about a project, I was there to remind him how awesome he is. “Honey, you’re the best game dev in this house,” I’d say, even if he was the only one.
- Learning together. We started watching documentaries about game design. Sounds boring, but it was actually pretty cool. I learned a lot, and it gave us something new to talk about.
Then there’s the whole “being strong” part. I realized being strong doesn’t mean you can’t be soft. It’s about being there for someone, even when it’s tough. There were times when he had to work long hours, and instead of nagging, I made sure he had a hot meal waiting for him when he was done. I became his rock, in my own way.
And you know what? It changed our relationship. We became closer, not just as husband and wife, but as friends. We laugh more, we talk more, and we even play games together now. I’m still not a pro gamer, but I can hold my own in a casual match, and that’s saying something.
So, yeah, that’s my story of becoming a “strong wife”. It’s not about being perfect or changing who you are. It’s about growing together, supporting each other, and yeah, sometimes kicking butt in video games together. Love you all, peace out!
