Okay, so, let’s talk about keeping a 3-month-old entertained. It’s a wild ride, but here’s what I did.
First off, I started with some music. I figured, why not have a little dance party? So I put on some tunes, nothing too crazy, just some upbeat stuff. I held my little one and we moved around to the music.

- I made sure to make silly faces and sounds which seemed to get a kick out of him.
- It’s kind of funny, but it felt like we were bonding, you know? And I’m pretty sure it’s good for their little brains too.
Next, I remembered seeing those colorful mobiles somewhere, and I thought, “Hey, that might be fun.” So I hung one up above his play area. I chose one with some bright, contrasting colors.
- I watched him track the little toys with his eyes.
- He seemed pretty fascinated by it. I guess it’s like a whole new world for them at that age, right?
Then I got a bunch of those baby toys, you know, the ones with different textures and shapes. I picked out some soft ones, some hard ones, some that crinkled, and some that rattled.
- I’d hand him one toy at a time, and let him grab it and feel it.
- Sometimes he’d just wave it around, other times he’d try to put it in his mouth, which, you know, is a whole other thing to watch out for.
I also tried this thing where I’d put him on his tummy and dangle a toy in front of him. I read somewhere that it helps them with their neck and back muscles.
- He would reach out for the toy.
- It was tough for him at first, but he got a little bit better each time. I guess practice makes perfect, even for babies.
Oh, and I also used different materials to let him feel different textures.
- I had this little piece of fake fur, and I’d gently rub it on his skin.
- Sometimes I’d use a soft blanket or a silk scarf.
He seemed to like the variety. It’s all about exploring, I guess.
It’s not always easy, and some days are definitely harder than others. But doing all these little things, it’s fun for him and it’s kind of rewarding for me, too.
