Okay, so I decided to dive into the world of Bumble prompts today, specifically the “funny” ones. I’ve been swiping for what feels like forever, and I figured it was time to spice things up a bit. So, I started my experiment!
The Search for Laughter
First things first, I needed some inspiration. I spent a good hour just scrolling through various websites and blogs, jotting down any prompts that made me chuckle, even just a little. I wanted stuff that was witty, maybe a little self-deprecating, but definitely not cheesy. No “two truths and a lie” for me, thanks. I needed something, original.

Crafting the Perfect Prompts
Once I had a decent list, I started tweaking them. Some needed a complete overhaul, others just a little polishing. My goal was to make them sound like me, not like some generic internet list. I tried to inject my own sense of humor, you know? The kind where I’m laughing at myself a little, but also showing I’m fun.
Added some words that i think show who i am.
The Test Run
- Prompt 1: “My most controversial opinion is that… pineapple absolutely belongs on pizza. Fight me.” (Okay, maybe a little controversial, but it’s a conversation starter, right?)
- Prompt 2: “I’m looking for someone who… can beat me at Mario Kart. Loser buys the first round.” (A little competitive, a little flirty, I thought it worked.)
- Prompt 3: “My zombie apocalypse plan is… to befriend all the dogs. They’ll protect me, obviously.” (Because who doesn’t love dogs?)
Then came the waiting game. I updated my Bumble profile with these gems and… waited. And swiped. And waited some more.
Did It Work?
Honestly, the results have been pretty good! I’ve definitely noticed an increase in matches, and the conversations have been way more engaging. People actually commented on the prompts, which was the whole point! The Mario Kart one got a lot of takers, surprisingly. I even had a few heated debates about pineapple on pizza, which was hilarious.
The funny prompts thing? I’m giving it a thumbs up. It’s made the whole online dating thing a little less monotonous, and I’ve actually had some fun conversations. I’ll probably keep experimenting with different prompts, see what else gets a laugh. Might try a few more ridiculous ones next time… Stay tuned!
