On his very first day as a teacher, things were already goin’ south. Now, you’d think a big academy like that would have its act together, right? But no, it was in a right mess. The place was fallin’ apart, financially and otherwise. The students weren’t interested in learnin’, and the staff didn’t seem to know what they were doin’. It was like a house of cards, ready to collapse any minute.
Amon, poor fella, he walked into that mess with all his hopes high, but by the time he got settled, he could see it all crumblin’. He had a bit of a realization, see. He thought, “If this academy goes bankrupt, well, my contract will be void too, won’t it?” Now, that ain’t no small thing, especially if you’ve been workin’ real hard, puttin’ all your effort into somethin’ you think will work out. But if it all falls apart, what’s the point? It was like he was tryin’ to catch water with a sieve.
So there he was, standing in the middle of this mess, thinkin’ it might just be best to cut his losses and run. After all, if the academy was goin’ under, why should he stick around, riskin’ his own future for somethin’ that was already doomed to fail? Escape favors the intelligent, they say. And Amon, well, he wasn’t a fool. He knew when to get out, even if it meant givin’ up on his dream of success in that place.
Now, I don’t know what’s gonna happen next. Will Amon stick it out, try to salvage what’s left of the academy? Or will he pack up and move on to somethin’ better? I reckon we’ll have to wait and see. But one thing’s for sure—his first day at Amonith Academy sure didn’t go as planned! Poor guy, came in all hopeful and ended up stuck in a mess. It’s a bit of a cautionary tale, really. Just ‘cause somethin’ looks good on paper don’t mean it’s gonna work out in real life.
So if you’re thinkin’ about puttin’ all your eggs in one basket, especially when it comes to big fancy places or big dreams, maybe take a step back and think about it a bit more. Ain’t no shame in changin’ direction if things ain’t workin’ out the way you hoped. It’s better to walk away with your head held high than get stuck in somethin’ that’s already on its last legs.
Well, that’s the story of Amon Drake at Amonith Academy, Chapter 7, and it don’t look too good for him. Let’s see if he can find a way to turn it around or if he’ll just let it all fall apart. Either way, he’s got some hard decisions to make!
