Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with my hair a lot lately, trying to find new ways to style it ’cause, you know, it’s super long and sometimes I just get bored with the same old ponytail. I found this box of old scarves in my closet the other day, and it hit me – why not try using them in my hair? I mean, I’ve seen people do it online, and it always looks so cute and effortless.
Trying it on
First things first, I picked out a few scarves that I thought would look good. I have this one long, silky one with a floral pattern that I love, and then a couple of smaller square ones that are more like bandanas. I laid them all out on my bed and just stared at them for a minute, not really knowing where to start.

- Tried the classic bandana style first. It seemed the easiest. I folded a square scarf into a triangle and tied it around my head, with the point of the triangle at the back. It was okay, but honestly, I felt a bit like I was about to go clean the house or something. Not exactly the vibe I was going for.
- Then I watched this video tutorial a girl showing nine ways to use it, it looked cool. So I followed the steps one by one, It took me so long to follow and tried every step.
- I also tried just wrapping the long, silky scarf around my ponytail. I started in the middle of the scarf and wrapped each end around my ponytail going in the opposite direction. This looked pretty nice, but it did make my ponytail feel a bit heavy and bulky.
After a bit more experimenting, I found a style I really liked. I did a low, loose braid and then wove the long scarf into the braid. It was a bit tricky at first to get the hang of braiding with the scarf, but once I figured it out, it went pretty smoothly. I tied off the end of the braid with the ends of the scarf, leaving them hanging down a bit. It looked really pretty and bohemian. I even got a few compliments on it when I went out to the grocery store!
I’m definitely going to keep playing around with different ways to use scarves in my hair. It’s such an easy way to change up my look, and it’s way more interesting than just a plain old hair tie. Plus, it’s a good way to use those scarves that I never wear otherwise. If you have long hair and you’re looking for a new way to style it, I’d totally recommend giving this a try!
