Okay, so I’ve been on this HUGE pita chip kick lately. I don’t know what it is, but I just can’t get enough of that crunchy, salty goodness. But, like, you can only eat so many plain pita chips before you start to feel a little…blah. So, I decided to figure out what actually goes well with these things.
My Experiment Begins
First, I raided my fridge. I mean, really raided it. I pulled out everything that seemed even remotely dippable. We’re talking hummus (obviously), some leftover guacamole, a jar of salsa that was probably a little too old, and even some cream cheese that I usually only use for bagels.

- Hummus: Classic. Can’t go wrong. I tried a roasted red pepper hummus, and it was pretty good.
- Guacamole: Surprisingly awesome! The creaminess of the avocado with the crunch of the chip? Yes, please.
- Salsa: Eh. It was okay, but nothing to write home about. Maybe if it had been a fresh salsa, it would have been better.
- Cream Cheese: Okay, this one was a little weird. I’m not gonna lie. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t exactly a winning combo either.
Taking it to the Next Level
Then.I wanted to get a little fancier.I went to buy some ingredients,I picked up some feta cheese, some olives, and a cucumber. I chopped everything up, mixed it together with a little olive oil and lemon juice, and BAM! Instant Mediterranean deliciousness. That feta and olive combo with the pita chips? Game changer.
Finally,I also tried something sweet. I sprinkled some cinnamon sugar on a few pita chips and popped them in the oven for a few minutes. Then I drizzled them with a little honey. It was…interesting. Definitely a different vibe, but not bad if you’re in the mood for something sweet and crunchy.
The Verdict
Honestly, the guacamole and that feta-olive mixture were the clear winners. The hummus was good, but it’s kind of a given, right? The salsa and cream cheese? Not so much. And the sweet version was a fun experiment, but probably not something I’d make all the time.
So, there you have it. My deep dive into the world of pita chip pairings. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some dipping to do…
