Okay, so today I decided to mess around with this “bard of life” concept. It sounded kinda cool, like being the DJ of your own existence, right?
Getting Started
First, I brainstormed what this even meant to me. I wasn’t going to write actual music, ’cause, well, I’m no Mozart. Instead, I thought about how I could influence the “soundtrack” of my day, the vibe I wanted to create.

- Woke up and instead of hitting snooze, I jumped out of bed. Felt kinda silly, but hey, gotta start somewhere.
- Put on some upbeat music. Usually, I’m all about chill tunes in the morning, but today was about energy.
- Made a ridiculously colorful breakfast. Think rainbow smoothie and fruit that practically glowed.
Setting the Stage
Next, I thought about my environment. My apartment’s usually… well, let’s just say “lived-in.” So, I did a quick tidy-up, nothing crazy, just enough to make things feel a bit more open and bright. I even opened the windows to let in some fresh air, even though it was a bit chilly.
The Main Act
The biggest part of my “bard of life” experiment was how I interacted with the world. I decided to be extra friendly and positive, even to the grumpy cashier at the coffee shop. I smiled a lot, said “please” and “thank you” like I meant it, and even made small talk with a stranger on the bus.
Unexpected Results
Honestly, it was kinda weird at first. I felt like I was faking it, you know? But then, something cool happened. People actually responded. The cashier cracked a smile, the stranger on the bus chatted back, and I even got a free cookie with my coffee! It was like I was conducting this little orchestra of good vibes, and people were playing along.
The Finale
By the end of the day, I was surprisingly… energized. It wasn’t some magical transformation, but I definitely felt lighter and more positive. It’s like by consciously trying to be the “bard” of my day, I actually changed the tune. Maybe it’s all in my head, but I think I’ll keep experimenting with this. Who knows, maybe I’ll even learn to play the ukulele.
