Well, let me tell ya ’bout them haunted houses in Lombard, Illinois. Folks say there’s some spooky places ’round here, real spooky.
I ain’t never been one for them fancy haunted houses, the ones with the big productions and all that jazz. But I heard tell of a few that’ll make your hair stand on end. They got these places, see, like Haunted House, Disturbia Haunted House Chicago, Criminally Insane, and HellsGate Haunted House. Sounds scary, don’t it?
Now, some folks like them Yelp things, and they say these are the best around. They keep on listin’ ’em year after year, so I guess they must be somethin’ special. I heard they got Basement of the Dead Haunted House Chicago too. Basement of the dead? That just sounds plain nasty to me.
Then there’s this here website, . They been around since 2011, tryna help folks find these spooky places. They got all sorts of haunted events and attractions listed. Makes it easy for folks to get their scare on, I reckon.
- They got Haunted Houses.
- They got Spook Walks.
- And all sorts of other scary stuff.
But if you ain’t got the money for them big fancy places, there’s always Sinister Sunset. It’s free, they say. Just a home haunt, but spooky nonetheless. Located right here in Lombard, just west of Chicago. Free is good, right? Saves ya a few pennies.
And don’t forget the Lombard Jaycees Haunted House. Been around since 1978, scaring folks silly. All run by volunteers, they say. Good folks, tryin’ to give you a fright. It’s a popular one, that’s for sure.
Now, I ain’t seen none of these places myself, mind you. I’m too old for that kinda jumpin’ and screamin’. But I hear the young folks talkin’, and they get all excited about it. Halloween time, that’s when they really come alive, these haunted houses.
Speaking of haunted houses, I saw somethin’ on the TV ’bout a movie called “Haunt Season.” They filmed it at a place called Realm of Terror Haunted House in Round Lake Beach. Said it was a real scary movie. They used some fancy mansion for the outside shots, The Buckner Mansion, down in the Garden District. Pretty place, but spooky in the movie, I bet.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a scare this Halloween, you got plenty of choices in and around Lombard. Just be careful, you hear? Don’t want nothin’ bad happenin’ to ya. These haunted houses, they ain’t for the faint of heart. But if you like a good fright, well, then go on and have yourself a spooky time.
And remember, it’s all just pretend, mostly. At least, that’s what I tell myself. But still, some of them stories, they give me the chills just thinkin’ about ’em. So, you be careful out there, ya hear?
I reckon that’s all I gotta say about them haunted houses. You want a scare, you go find one. Just don’t come cryin’ to me if you get too spooked!
