Well, ain’t that somethin’, Connecticut countryside, they call it. Never been there myself, but heard folks talk. Countryside, huh? Guess it’s where all them trees and grass be, right?
They say you can find things to do there. Tours and activities, they call ’em. Like what, I wonder? Walkin’ around lookin’ at dirt? Probably charge ya an arm and a leg for it too. But I reckon some folks like that kinda thing. Spendin’ their money on who knows what.
And cabins, you can rent cabins there. Like little houses, but made of wood, I guess. Sleep in ’em, eat in ’em. Probably got bugs, though. Hope they got good screens on the windows. Nobody wants bugs bitin’ ’em at night.
Mystic, that’s a place in Connecticut. Folks say it’s charming. I don’t know about charmin’. What’s so charmin’ about a small town? Probly got one store and everyone knows everyone’s business. Not for me, thank you very much.
They talk about adventures in eastern Connecticut. Adventures? Like fightin’ bears or somethin’? Sounds dangerous. They say there’s trails and parks, places for walkin’. Walkin’, always walkin’. My old bones ain’t up for that much walkin’ no more.
- Hiking they say. Hike up a hill, hike down a hill. Sounds like a lot of work.
- Bikin’, too. Ridin’ them bicycles. Fall off one of them things and you’ll break somethin’.
Then there’s maps, interactive places maps, they call ’em. Like a big paper with lines all over it. Shows you where things are. Landmarks and businesses. Why you need a map for that, I don’t know. Just ask someone, they’ll tell ya where to go.
Connecticut countryside. Probly pretty in the fall, all them leaves changin’ color. But then winter comes and everything’s dead. And summer, well, it’s hot and sticky. Spring’s alright, I guess. Things growin’ and such.
But what do I know? I’m just an old woman. Never been to Connecticut countryside. Just heard things. Probly ain’t as excitin’ as they make it sound. Just a bunch of trees and grass. And bugs, don’t forget the bugs.
Folks go on vacation there, spend their money. Relaxin’, they call it. Relaxin’? What’s relaxin’ about sleepin’ in a cabin and walkin’ in the woods? I can relax right here in my own chair, thank you very much. Don’t need to go to no Connecticut countryside.
But if you like that kinda thing, go on ahead. Spend your money. Hike and bike and look at maps. Just don’t come complainin’ to me when you get bug bites and sore feet.
Connecticut countryside. Huh. Guess it’s somethin’. Not for me, though. I’ll stick to my own backyard. Got all the trees and grass I need right here.
