Well, let me tell you, this March, I’m thinkin’ about goin’ camping in California. Heard it’s a real good time to go. Ain’t too hot, ain’t too cold. Just right, like a good bowl of porridge. I hear them California places got some right pretty sights to see, especially in March.
Now, I ain’t no fancy traveler. I like things simple. A tent, a good fire, some beans and bread, that’s all I need. But this California camping in March, it’s got me itchin’ to go. They say the flowers are bloomin’ somethin’ fierce. And the ocean, oh, that big ol’ blue, they say it’s calmer than a sleepin’ baby in March.

I hear tell there’s a place called Joshua Tree. Sounds like a fella I used to know, always gettin’ into trouble. But this Joshua Tree, it’s a whole park! Full of trees that look like they’re from another planet. They say you can camp right there, sleep under them crazy lookin’ trees. Costs a few dollars, but what’s a few dollars for a good night under the stars, right?
Then there’s somethin’ called a Superbloom. Now that sounds fancy, don’t it? But I reckon it’s just a whole lot of flowers bloomin’ at once. Makes the whole place look like a rainbow threw up. They say it happens in the desert, in a place called Anza-Borrego. Sounds like a mouthful, but I bet it’s pretty. Might see it if I go camping in March in California.

They say there are all sorts of places to camp in California. State parks, they call ’em. Big ones, small ones, some by the water, some up in the hills. I reckon I’ll find one that suits me just fine. Just need a little spot to pitch my tent and a place to build a fire. Don’t need nothin’ fancy. Just a good view and some peace and quiet.
Now, I hear them nights can get a little chilly, even in March. So I’ll pack a good jacket. And maybe some of them long shirts, you know, the ones you can layer up. Heard that’s the best way to do it. Be ready for anything, that’s what I always say. Might even pack some shorts, just in case it gets real warm. You never know with that California weather.
March seems like a good time to go ’cause it ain’t too crowded yet. The summer folks ain’t arrived, and the winter birds have flown north. So it’s just the right amount of people, not too many, not too few. Just like my garden, needs the right amount of sun and water, not too much, not too little.
I hear there are these big trees in California, too. Redwoods, they call ’em. Taller than anythin’ you ever seen. Might be worth a look. They say you can camp near them, too. Imagine sleepin’ under a tree that’s been around longer than your grandma’s grandma! That’s somethin’ to think about. Camping in California in March got all sorts of things to see, I reckon.

And if you want somethin’ a little fancier, they got them hotels and Airbnbs, whatever those are. Sound like somethin’ from the city. I reckon they cost a pretty penny. But if you got the money, why not? Me, I’ll stick to my tent. It’s all I need.
Now, some folks like to go to fancy events. They got some big award show in Los Angeles, they say. The Academy Awards, they call it. Sounds like a whole lot of fuss to me. I’d rather be watchin’ the stars in the sky than the stars on the TV. But hey, to each their own, right? That’s what makes the world go ’round.
So, yeah, camping in March in California. It’s got me thinkin’. Might just pack up my old truck and head on out there. See them flowers, them trees, that big ol’ ocean. It’s been a long winter, and I’m ready for some sunshine and some fresh air. And who knows, maybe I’ll even see that Joshua Tree fella. Heard he’s a sight to behold. Cost about $32 to sleep near them, they say. Worth it, I reckon.
There are so many places for camping, they say you can go all year. But March, that’s the sweet spot. Not too hot, not too cold, just right. Like a good pair of shoes, broken in just right. That’s what California camping in March sounds like to me. Just right.
They say you should think about April and May, too, or even September and October. But March, that’s when I’m thinkin’ of goin’. That’s when the flowers are bloomin’ and the weather’s just right. That’s when I’ll be packin’ my bags and headin’ west. To see what all the fuss is about. To see them California sights. And maybe, just maybe, to find a little peace and quiet under them California stars.
