You can find cheap hotels in Florida, too. Don’t you worry none about that. They ain’t all fancy and expensive. Some are just right for regular folks like you and me. You just gotta look around a bit. You can find cheap flights, too. Many airlines fly to Florida, you can get a good price. I heard that is you book early, you can save money.
Texas, Big and Warm!
Then there’s Texas. Everything’s bigger in Texas, they say. And that includes the sunshine! It’s a big state, and the south part is nice and warm in February. You can go to places like South Padre Island. That’s right on the water, and it’s pretty as a picture.

- The water’s not too cold. Some folks even swim!

Now, if you like it dry, Arizona is your place. It’s a desert, you know. But that means it’s warm in the day, even in February. You got your Phoenix, your Tucson. Lots of sunshine there. And cactuses! Big ol’ cactuses, like you see in the movies.

- You can go hiking, if you’re into that.
- It’s a different kind of warm, you know? Dry heat.
They say it’s a “dry heat” in Arizona. I don’t know what that means, exactly. But I know it means it’s not all sticky and sweaty like some places. You can find some good deals on places to stay in Arizona. Just gotta poke around. You can get there by plane, or drive, it depends on where you come from. The flight might be expensive but the hotels, you can find cheap ones. If you drive, you might spend more on gas. So many things to think about! But I always find a way to save some money.
Southern California, Dreamin’!
And then there’s California. Southern California, that is. That’s where you got your Los Angeles and San Diego. Lots of famous folks there. Movie stars and such. But don’t let that scare you. There’s plenty of room for regular folks, too.
- San Diego has a big zoo. Lots of animals from all over.
- You can go to the beach in Los Angeles. Maybe see a movie star!
- It’s warm in February, but not too hot.
California can be pricey, I won’t lie. But if you’re smart about it, you can find some deals. You gotta look for them, though. They ain’t just gonna jump out at you. They got beaches, volcanoes, and flowers everywhere. You can fly there from California. It is a long flight! They say if you book in advance, you can save money on the flight. This is what I heard from my neighbor.
