Okay, so, I’ve got this pile of makeup I don’t use anymore. It’s all still pretty good, some of it is even brand new, but it’s just sitting there. I figured, why not try to sell it and make a little money back, right?
First, I went through all my makeup and picked out everything I was willing to part with. I made sure to check the expiration dates – wouldn’t want to sell anything icky! Then I cleaned everything up, you know, wiped down the compacts, sharpened the pencils, that sort of thing. I wanted everything to look as nice as possible.
Next, I had to figure out where to sell this stuff. I thought about Amazon, but I do not know how to do it. I also consider Facebook, it seems a little complicated. Then, I tried to find more information about these platforms.
- GlamBot: I discovered GlamBot after some searching, but it seems not suitable for my situation.
- Poshmark: I saw a lot of people talking about Poshmark, but they mostly focus on clothes. My friend used it for selling her clothes and handbags before, but not for makeup. I decide to try it later.
- Carousell and Shopee: They are not available in my region. It’s a pity.
- Amazon: It has a lot of different types of stuff to sell, and also has a lot of visitors. I really want to try it.
So, I started with Amazon. I found it was really easy to create a listing. I took some nice, clear photos of each item, wrote up descriptions, and set my prices. I tried to price things fairly, you know, lower than retail but still enough to make it worth my while.
I listed a few things on Amazon, and waited. It took a little while, but eventually, I sold a few things! It wasn’t a ton of money, but it was something. And it was kind of exciting to see my old makeup going to someone who would actually use it.
After that, I decide to try Poshmark. Same as what I did on Amazon, I create the listings and wait for a few days. Surprisingly, I sold a lipstick and an eye shadow palette! It is so great! I packed them carefully, and printed out the shipping labels.
In the end, I was able to sell most of my used cosmetics. It took a bit of time and effort, but it was definitely worth it. I made some extra cash, decluttered my makeup collection, and gave my old products a new home. Win-win-win!
