So, I was planning this trip, right? A real adventure from Santorini to Cyprus. I’d always heard about how gorgeous both places are, and I figured, why not combine them? First, I had to figure out how far apart these two places actually are. I mean, they’re both in the Mediterranean, but that’s a big sea!
I started by just looking them up online. Just typed in “Santorini to Cyprus distance” into the search bar. Turns out, they’re pretty far apart! We’re talking about 730-something kilometers, or about 455 miles. That’s not exactly a hop, skip, and a jump.

Then I started thinking about how to actually make the journey. I quickly realized that driving wasn’t an option, unless I had an underwater car I didn’t know about. I needed to figure out the best way to get from Point A to Point B. This is when I started to use my brain. I’ve been thinking about this all night. There are some main ways as I have found.

Find a Flight
This seemed like the obvious choice. I mean, who wants to spend hours and hours on a boat when you can just fly? I started looking at different airlines. It looked like there were some direct flights, which was awesome. Less time in transit means more time exploring! And, I discovered that some airlines offer flights from Santorini to Athens, and then from Athens to Cyprus. That’s an option, too, though it would take a bit longer.

Check Out Ferry Options
Even though flying is faster, I thought I should at least look into ferries. Maybe there’s some scenic route, or perhaps it’s cheaper. I did a little digging, but it seemed like there weren’t really any direct ferry routes. It seemed like a lot of hassle, maybe with multiple stops. And honestly, after seeing the flight options, I was kind of leaning towards just flying. I want to spend less time on the sea.
After looking at all the options, I decided to go with a flight. It’s the fastest, most convenient way to get there, and it gives me more time to actually enjoy Cyprus. I booked a direct flight from Santorini to Larnaca. Now, I just have to pack my bags and get ready for an amazing trip! I can’t wait to relax on the beaches, explore ancient ruins, and eat delicious food. This is going to be an epic journey, and I’m so glad I took the time to figure out the best way to get there.
I learned something important during this whole planning process. Sometimes, the simplest solution is the best. Flights were the most direct route, and sometimes you just want to get to your destination and start the adventure! Plus, now I have a fun story to tell about how I almost took a ferry across the Mediterranean. You know what? I’m gonna take a nap. I’m already exhausted just thinking about all the exploring I’m going to do!
