Okay, so this weekend, I was itching to get out of the city. You know, escape the concrete jungle and breathe some fresh air. I decided a quick getaway to Connecticut (CT) was just what the doctor ordered. So, I started brainstorming.
Planning the Trip
First things first, I needed a destination. I didn’t want to spend hours driving, so I focused on the closer parts of CT. I grabbed my phone and started poking around.

I looked at a few towns that seemed cute and had some stuff to do. I was really feeling a small-town vibe, maybe something with some history, you know?
Packing My Stuff
Packing for a weekend is always a bit of a scramble. I threw some clothes in a bag – jeans, a couple of t-shirts, a sweater (because, New England weather, am I right?). Nothing fancy, just comfy stuff. I also made sure I got my camera and chager with me. I really don’t wanna miss any great shots, also having my phone run out of battery is the last thing I would worry about!
Hitting the Road
Saturday morning, I hopped in the car. The drive was pretty smooth. I put on some music, rolled down the windows, and just enjoyed the ride. Seeing the trees and open spaces instead of skyscrapers was such a relief.
Exploring the Town
When I got there, I checked into a cozy little B&B I found. I am such a sucker for those type of places! Then, I just started wandering around the town.
I stumbled upon a cute little main street with some antique shops and local boutiques. I poked around in a few, just browsing and soaking up the atmosphere.

Food, Glorious Food
For dinner, I decided to try a local restaurant that someone recommended. It was one of those farm-to-table places. Seriously fresh and delicious! I had some amazing seafood. It was so good, I practically licked the plate clean (don’t judge!).
Sunday Funday
Sunday morning, I woke up feeling refreshed. I had a leisurely breakfast at the B&B, chatting with the owners and some other guests.
I spent the rest of the day exploring some nearby trails. The fall colors were just starting to pop, so it was really beautiful. I took tons of pictures. I took some deep breaths, enjoyed the peace and quiet, and just felt totally relaxed.
Heading Home
By late afternoon, it was time to head back. I felt so much better than I had on Friday. Just a short break from the city was enough to recharge my batteries. It was a simple weekend, nothing fancy, but it was exactly what I needed. A perfect little CT getaway!
