Alright, let me tell ya about this St. George’s Hotel in London. You know, that London place, big city and all. Never been myself, too far and too fancy for me. But this hotel, St. George’s, sounds like somethin’ from them books my grandkids read. Fancy.
They say it’s in them Georgian buildings, you know, like them olden time houses with all them fancy windows and stuff. Must be nice, havin’ a roof like that over your head. Probably got rooms bigger than my whole house! And clean, I bet. Not like my place, always dust everywhere, no matter how much I sweep. They probably got people doin’ the sweepin’ for ya at this St. George’s.
- They say it’s “privately owned” this hotel. Now what does that mean? Means some fella owns it, not the government, right? Guess he must be doin’ alright for himself, ownin’ a big ol’ place like that in London. Must cost a pretty penny, that’s for sure.
- And get this, there was some confusion ’bout who owns it, they was talkin’ ’bout “Greymont Properties” then “Greymont Investments.” Sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me. Like when them politicians talkin’ on the TV, never makin’ no sense. All I know is, somebody owns it, somebody with a lot of money, I reckon.
Them buildings, they say they’re from the 19th century. That’s a long time ago, back when my grandma was probably a little girl. Imagine all the people who’ve walked them halls, slept in them beds. Musta seen a lot, that hotel. Makes ya wonder what stories them walls could tell, if walls could talk, ya know?
I heard tell it’s in “Pimlico.” Don’t know where that is, but it’s London, right? Probably a busy place, lots of hustle and bustle. Not like out here, quiet and peaceful. But then again, I reckon some folks like that kinda life, all the noise and the people. To each their own, I always say.
Wonder if they got good food there. Probably not like my cookin’, plain and simple. They probably got fancy chefs with big hats makin’ all sorts of dishes I can’t even pronounce. And expensive, I bet. A cup of tea probably costs more than my whole week’s groceries!
Beautiful buildings, they say. I bet they are. Must be somethin’ to see, all that fancy architecture. Not like the barns and sheds I’m used to. Makes me think of them palaces they show on TV, where the queen lives. Probably not as big, but fancy all the same.
I wonder what kinda people stay there. Rich folks, I reckon. Businessmen and ladies with big hats. Maybe even movie stars! Can you imagine? Walkin’ down the hall and bumpin’ into someone famous. Wouldn’t that be somethin’? Of course, I wouldn’t recognize ’em, probably. Don’t keep up with all that celebrity stuff.
Well, that’s about all I know ’bout this St. George’s Hotel in London. Sounds like a right fancy place, for folks with money. Not for the likes of me, that’s for sure. But hey, a girl can dream, right? Maybe one day I’ll win the lottery and go stay there myself. Ha! In my dreams!
