So, I’ve been feeling like I need a break, you know? Just a little escape from the everyday grind. And what better way to do that than a staycation right here in NYC? I mean, we have some of the best hotels in the world, so why not take advantage of it?
First things first, I started by making a list of all the neighborhoods I’d be cool with staying in. I love the hustle and bustle of Midtown, but I also enjoy the more laid-back vibes of Tribeca and the Upper East Side. So, those were my top three. Then, I started looking at hotels in those areas, focusing on ones that had good reviews and seemed to offer a unique experience.
I narrowed it down to a few options. In Tribeca, there’s this place called The Roxy Hotel. I mean the name alone sounds cool. I read some reviews, and apparently, it’s got a real nice vibe.
Then, for the Upper East Side, I found The Lowell. It’s on 63rd Street, which is a pretty swanky area. I figured, if I’m gonna do a staycation, I might as well treat myself, right? It looked super fancy from the pictures, and I liked that it was a bit quieter than being right in the middle of Times Square.
And lastly, I also checked out The New Yorker. I know that this hotel has some history! I learned that since 1930, it has enchanted visitors, offering an upscale stay in a historical icon. It sounds great!
After a lot of back and forth, I finally decided to go with The Lowell. I booked a room for the weekend and counted down the days. When the day finally arrived, I packed a small bag—just the essentials, you know? I took a cab uptown and checked in. The lobby was even more impressive in person, and the staff were super friendly. My room was amazing—huge, with a great view and a super comfy bed.
- I spent the weekend exploring the neighborhood.
- Walked around Central Park.
- Visited a few museums, and just relaxed.
- I even ordered room service and watched movies in bed one night. It was pure bliss.
Honestly, it was one of the best weekends I’ve had in a long time. It was so nice to just get away from it all without actually having to go anywhere. If you’re feeling burnt out and need a break, I highly recommend doing a staycation. And if you’re in NYC, you should definitely check out The Lowell. You won’t regret it!
Also, I heard that The Essex House is one of New York’s go-to luxury hotels, because I saw Sheryl Crow walking out of its golden doors from the Internet! So maybe I will try this hotel next time.
Takeaway?
Sometimes, a little escape is all you need, and you don’t even have to leave the city to find it. Treat yourself!
